Shaikh Mohamed bin Duaij Al Khalifa

Shaikh Mohamed bin Duaij Al Khalifa is the Chairman of Britus International School – Special Education (BISSE), the President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee, Vice Chairman and Chairman of the Executive Committee for the Higher Committee for the Care of People with Disabilities, and the Chief Executive Officer of Dilmunia Mall Development Company W.L.L.

Shaikh Mohamed brings to his role as Chairman of BISSE extensive experience in spearheading and supporting initiatives aimed at empowering the differently abled community. Since 2014, Shaikh Mohamed has been serving the field of adaptive sports for people with disabilities within the Kingdom of Bahrain through his role as the President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities. His commitment and efforts in this area has been widely recognized, and has received the honour of being mandated by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King in Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, to establish and serve as President of the Bahrain Paralympic Committee (BPC) in 2016. Since establishing the Committee, Shaikh Mohamed has led the BPC towards new achievements on numerous fronts, and played a vital role in driving forward the field of adaptive sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

In addition to his years of dedication towards the support of the differently abled community, Shaikh Mohamed is also a seasoned management professional with over 14 years of experience serving in various senior leadership positions in the retail and hospitality real estate sectors.

Shaikh Mohamed holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and Management from Saint Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the New York Institute of Technology (Bahrain).

Mrs. Fatema Kamal

Fatema Kamal is the Chief Executive Officer at Britus Education and is an Executive Director at GFH Financial Group, leading on the Group’s education investments. She has played an instrumental role in the operational transformation of the British School of Bahrain and other education assets in GFH’s portfolio.

Fatema has 18 years of working experience and a strong track-record of sourcing, structuring, advising and managing private equity. She has in-depth field experience in the financial sector specializing in investment structuring, strategic and organizational planning, tax structuring oversight, Sharia product structuring, joint venture negotiation, business development and project management. Prior to joining GFH, Fatema held the position of Senior Executive Director of Investment Baking at Global Banking Corporation BSC. She also worked as an auditor with KPMG Bahrain.

Fatema holds a master’s degree with honors in Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting with honors from the University of Bahrain. Fatema is also a qualified and licensed CPA from The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and CIA from The Institute of Internal Auditors.

Mrs. Haifa Solaimain

Haifa Sulaiman is an Executive Director at GFH Financial Group focusing on GFH’s education investments. Haifa was part of the leading team members in establishing GFH’s education platform “Britus Education”, in addition to assisting with strategic acquisitions and managing the operation of other education assets in GFH’s portfolio. Haifa has also played an instrumental role the operational and brand transformation of AMA International University, currently knows as University of Technology Bahrain.

Haifa has over 14 years of working experience with a blend of educational knowledge and commercial skills and a respectable track record is sourcing, structuring, advising and managing private equity in addition to financial experience, investment structuring and project management process of several investments post the acquisition phase. Haifa is a Board member in Britus International School, Bahrain, Britus International School for Special Education and a member of the Board Trustee in University of Technology Bahrain.

Haifa holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of Bahrain and has passed the first level of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exams and is a level II candidate.

Dr. Hasan Al Mulla

Dr. Hassan Almulla is the President of University of Technology – Bahrain. He also previously held the position of Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at Bahrain Polytechnic and the Chair of the General Sciences Department at the College of Health Sciences.

Dr. Hassan has a proven track record of more than 26 years and extensive experience in leading, establishing, and growing educational institutions. His extensive experience in teaching, research, and academic administration has culminated in the creation and implementation of a highly ambitious but pragmatic institutional strategy in light of organizational challenges and based on the best educational standards while strengthening governance and financial management.

Dr. Hassan holds a PhD in Physiology from the University of Edinburgh, a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences from the Arabian Gulf University, and a Diploma in Business Administration from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Mr. Waleed AlRashdan

Mr. Waleed AlRashdan is a certified public accountant with more than 23 years of experience in Central Banking, Retail Islamic Banking and Investment Banking and is based out of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

He was the Executive Director – Banking Operations of the Central Bank of Bahrain and was affiliated with the organisation for over 14 years.

Mr. Rashdan was also affiliated with Kuwait Finance House as an Executive Director – Financial Group and also as the CEO and Board Director of Tadhamon Capital. Currently, Mr. Rashdan also serves as an Independent Director at Acacia Investments, Y.K.Almoayyed, Ibdar Capital and board committee member of Majd Investment and Esad for human resource solutions.

In 2007, Mr. Rashdan set up Steps Rehabilitation Centre, a specialised Pediatric Therapy center providing Intensive Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy to children and young adults with traumatic brain injuries and neuromuscular disorders. Steps is also the regional training center for the Therasuit™ method.

Little Gems Pre-School and Early Learners Nursery, both offered British Curriculum education and were located in Barbar and Saar respectively were acquired by Mr. Rashdan in 2015. The schools have now merged under the Little Gems Umbrella.

Mr. Rashdan set up Thamarat Holding in 2015, in conjunction with the acquisition of the preschools, as a Holding company and platform for both Healthcare and Educational ventures.
