At BISSE we are continually striving to find ways to support our students and parents. We know that our students are often misunderstood and find it difficult to find their comfort zone in new places. Our parents run around trying to find the right kind of activities and spaces only to be let down when it’s not the right fit. But these after-school activities are so important for our students.
With the right space, place, and people an after-school activity is the perfect opportunity for the student to show their strengths, build confidence, learn social skills, and discover new interests. Our students need exposure to a variety of activities to learn where their strengths lie, whether it be in sports or arts. Working alongside the right kind of extracurricular providers, our therapists and teachers can manage the environment while our students are exposed to new, exciting, but safe experiences.
Our rich program of activities takes education beyond the four walls of the classroom, away from textbooks and into the wider world. We aim to provide all our learners the opportunity to extend their academic learning, develop their character and personality, provide them with new experiences as well as immerse themselves into a range of world events that truly enhance their understanding of global issues.
Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities are an integral part of developing our students’ enrichment profile. BISSE is committed to developing a range of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities with a range of local and international partners to ensure that all students have a broad program of opportunities to learn and develop their interests and talents.
The activities and event celebrations reinforce academic, social-emotional and physical development by providing students with a range of additional experiences and cultural activities. Where they can apply the concepts they have learned in the classrooms. Extracurricular activities are provided to encourage students to develop new skills, new experiences and new interests which may help them in their future Through these activities, they are able to learn and develop self-confidence, teamwork, diversity and cultural sensitivity. Activities include participation in sports, arts, life skills and competitions.
